You Yu Yi: Yau Ching’s Critical Writings on Art, Hong Kong: Culture Plus, 2015
A collection of Yau Ching’s essays on visual art, performance, music, literature, mostly written for columns in newspapers and cultural magazines in the 1980s-1990s Hong Kong. Book cover is a still from the happening-installation-performance “Object-act-ivities” (1989) collaboratively created by Yau Ching, Leung Ping-kwan, Choi Yan-chi and Kung Chi-shing, plus others, at a public gallery, as a response to the Tiananmen protests that Spring. A young audience member called Leung Mantao (now a well-known writer) stripped and lied down on the floor of the performance site, and Yau Ching ad hoc poured talcum powder on him.
